ImpactAim Accelerator, the key component of the global UNDP Impact Investment Vehicle concept, is an independent platform that aims to develop different, field-based acceleration programs to support early-stage and established start-ups that address identified gaps of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

ImpactAIM Accelerations help address the development challenges by applying non-traditional approaches and solutions. To do this, thematic Accelerators create new service lines in the development sector and act as a prototype, that is aimed to engage multiple stakeholders, including investors, the tech community, academia, the government, and donor organizations. With this goal in mind, ImpactAIM mapped out a theory of change, showing how a program identifies and selects high-potential, impact-oriented early-stage and mature ventures with tech-enabled solutions; mentors and builds networks and skills; ensures access to significant expertise, networks and investors injects impact into the DNA of business models; introduces business, finance and impact tracks and learning; analyses each venture’s business model; produces cohorts of ventures which are ready for follow-on investments.

These investments can help to support growth and job creation and may ultimately enable accelerated ventures to contribute to economic growth and to building the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
