“It all started back when I lost my job”, says Haykanush, who decided to shift her professional career towards creating and developing her dream job.

Haykanush is one of the participants of the UNDP ImpactAim Accelerator #5 vol. 3 program, which aims to empower women and kids living in Armenia to make the first steps in the tech world by delivering tech and business training, as well as helping them to come up with their own startup projects.

It’s never too late to start from the scratch

Haykanush Abelyan always dreamed of having a photo studio. Her strong passion for photography led her to a point where she decided to finally take the first step and launch a local photo studio, which was supposed to be her primary source of income and inspiration. However, things didn't work out the way she planned then, as during the implementation process Haykanush faced a number of challenges, regarding her skills and time management. Simultaneously, she was offered a new job and left the photo studio promising to return as soon as she finds an opportunity.

... soon after her end-all decision, she was scrolling her social media as usual and came across the Accelerator #5 program announcement.

That is when she thought WHY NOT?

-I did not even see the winning prize information. I was thinking that the program could be a huge chance to uplift my professional skills, as well as a good platform for networking. So, I gave it a try and it clicked.

During the research and analysis of the project, Haykanush and the team faced an important point and claimed that there is a lack of branded photo studios and photographers who have a unique online presence. Haykanush believes that the scattered information confuses people and those who are interested in working with a photographer, tend to have a hard time finding the information needed for a start.

Based on this research, the team decided to found a project:Photoshot, which is a unified platform that will enable individual photo/video shooters and studios to have their own pages, with their comprehensive services and description.

-The team consists of 5-6 people and we did our best to be active enough to clearly understand the topic provided during the course. After the participation, we defined our further goals and steps and had a productive result.

The team is now working on developing Photoshot.pro and is planning to enhance and expand, shaping more and more innovative solutions to the seemingly basic but rooted problems.
