Lack of access to clean water, electricity, and reliable internet connection stifles the economic and social development of countless communities. ZEST's CUBE aims to empower these communities with these resources integral to advancement and innovation.
Zest has used their unique knowledge in the production of off-grid energy fluids (power, water, connectivity) to develop a disruptive concept named CUBE. CUBE is an autonomous plug-and-play solar-powered system able to create supply points in electricity, clean water and internet in the IoT.
The CUBE will have an impact well beyond it's primary scope:
By empowering people to produce their own vital resources, ZEST's project will generate huge positive externalities, among which is the emergence of a circular economy in previously non-electrified rural areas.
By connecting people and organizations, opening new opportunities for trade and economic/social development
This venture is directly mapped with SDG 6: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all, as well as SDG 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all. It is also indirectly mapped with SDG 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation. ZEST advance these SDGs through the following avenues:
The more cubes used and the more people trained on best energy consumption practices, the greater the reduction of the environmental toll causes by traditional, polluting infrastructure.
ZEST will ensure the dissemination of AI and the internet in places of the world where the application of these technologies seemed out of reach (until now)- making a strong contribution to the digitization of society.
